Every milestone tells a story, and this year we are honoured to celebrate one especially close to our hearts.
Thirty years ago, Auberge Burgundy began as a dream. Inspired by a love of French hospitality and timeless elegance, Wessel and Marolene envisioned a charming French-style guesthouse to complement their beloved restaurant in the heart of Hermanus. What began as a family venture has grown into the boutique hotel it is today, a place where warmth, genuine hospitality, and lasting memories continue to define every guest experience.
This celebration marks more than the anniversary of a hotel. It is a tribute to two remarkable people whose vision, dedication, and passion laid the foundation for everything Auberge Burgundy has become.
Had they been with us today, they would each have celebrated their 80th birthdays, making this milestone a fitting opportunity to honour their lives, their legacy, and the values they instilled in all who have been part of this journey.

As we celebrate 30 years of Auberge Burgundy, we do so with heartfelt gratitude to the guests who have returned time and again, the dedicated staff who have become part of our family, and the friends and partners who have supported us along the way. Together, we celebrate the past, embrace the present, and look forward to the chapters still to be written.
On 5 December, Auberge Burgundy is turning thirty, and we're marking it the way we do everything here: slowly, generously, and with a good dose of fun.
Arrive to lunch, settle into your room, then spend the afternoon however you like. Book a spa treat, walk the coastal path with Dave de Beer and hear the story of Hermanus (and its whales) along the way, or simply do nothing at all. As evening falls, step out of your room and into the party. Mediterranean-inspired food, live music, and thirty years of stories, right on Auberge's doorstep.
Sunday brings a slower start. Yoga and a cold plunge at the Marine Pool if you're up for it, breakfast at your own pace, and a lazy morning before you head home.
You're invited to bring your partner or a plus one and to be part of the thirty years we're celebrating.
